Speak with a partnerWho we are
Alma Advisors is an independent M&A and corporate finance advisory firm focused on the European mid-market. We advise corporates, family businesses, entrepreneurs and investors on complex strategic and financial transactions.
As the exclusive IMAP partner in Greece and Cyprus, we combine entrepreneurial, partner-led advice with the reach of a global network of independent advisory firms, delivering local insight and international execution for domestic and cross-border mandates.
We serve our clients from our offices in Athens and Limassol.
Why independence is the model
We do not lend. We do not run a capital markets desk. We hold no proprietary capital and have no products to place. There is no second business inside Alma Advisors whose interests could quietly outrank yours.
That matters most at the moments where advice is actually worth paying for: whether to sell at all, which buyer to take seriously, and when to walk away from a deal that no longer serves you. If our only revenue comes from advising you well, our advice can afford to be uncomfortable when it needs to be.
The trade-off is real and we would rather state it plainly. We cannot underwrite a transaction, and we cannot provide the debt or equity that funds one. Where a mandate needs financing, we introduce lenders and investors and stay on your side of the table while they compete for the business. You gain a firm with no conflict to manage. You give up a one-stop shop.
What we advise on
Six areas of work, one team. Most mandates draw on more than one of them.
Sell-side and buy-side mandates end to end: preparation, valuation, buyer strategy, negotiation and completion.
Commercial and financial diligence for acquirers, and vendor diligence — the same review run before you go to market — so a buyer finds no surprises you have not already priced.
Equity from private equity funds, family offices and strategic investors, structured around what the business needs rather than what is easiest to place.
Structure, lenders and terms for acquisition finance, refinancing and growth capital. We negotiate with the banks; we are not one of them.
An independent view on an acquisition, a project or a business plan, for boards and shareholders who need an assessment they can defend.
Credit analysis and structuring support for funds and investors underwriting Greek and Cypriot exposure.
Combining global sector expertise with specific local knowledge, IMAP provides top-tier Mergers and Acquisitions and Corporate Finance advisory services to mid-market business owners and investors around the world.

Questions about the firm
If your question is not here, ask a partner directly. There is no charge for a first conversation.
Ask a partnerThe founding partners own the firm outright. There is no bank, fund or external shareholder behind us — which is the reason we can turn down work that would create a conflict, and why nobody upstairs is asking us to cross-sell you anything.
The mid-market: businesses where a transaction is the most significant financial event in the owner’s life, and where the owner is still close enough to the business to shape the outcome. In practice that usually means an enterprise value — the value of the whole business including its debt — in the tens of millions rather than the hundreds. If you are unsure whether you fit, ask; the answer takes one conversation.
IMAP appoints one member firm per country. We are that firm for Greece and Cyprus, so an international buyer approaching the network for either market is introduced to us. It works in both directions: when your buyer is more likely to sit in Munich, Milan or the Gulf, a colleague who works in that market makes the approach rather than us cold-calling into it.
No. We hold no proprietary capital and take no equity in client companies. Our only revenue is advisory fees, so we are never both your adviser and a party on the other side of your transaction.
